Senior Footballers good start to the year
Sunday 5th February 2012

Both Bredagh mens Senior football teams made their first appearance of the season at Cherryvale on Sunday 5th February 2012.

In the opening encounter the Snr Reserves overcame St Comgall’s Antrim in a challenge match on a score line of 2-08 to 0-10. The youngsters – Michael Robinson (0-01), Aidan O’Gorman and Michael Doran (1-00) did particularly well.

In the other game the Seniors beat a very strong Lamh Deargh team in the Ulster Intermediate League. Last years beaten Antrim Senior Championship finalists were hit by a 1st half Bredagh blitz, trailing 1-06 to 0-01. The visitors made a comeback in the 2nd half, but a gritty Bredagh performance ensured a victory. The manner of the win was pleasing, and the performances of Kevin Harte and Joe Steele in particular (who shackled  Antrim star Paddy Cunningham) was excellent. Paddy Byrne and Henry Deazley got the goals
