Discussion paper-players welfare

The Uachtaran and Ard Stiúrthoir asked me to prepare a paper on issues affecting the provision of a better fixtures programme for club players. The paper (attached) aims to be a discussion document around which clubs and counties can debate the matter. Arising from that debate and the views which emerge, Coiste Bainisti will draw up proposals to try to improve the current situation.
Presentations based on this document have being made to CCCC, Provincial Councils and Ard-Comhairle and it is hoped that counties and their clubs will discuss the document and the points raised. Counties and provinces are asked to submit their views and proposals by 24 August. Coiste Bainisti will then consider the responses and prepare specific proposals. I must emphasise that this document is not a set of proposals. It is a discussion document to facilitate all units in seriously addressing a major issue for the Association.
I hope that you will use this document to initiate discussion among your clubs and County Committee and I look forward to receiving the views and proposals of your county or province.
