U14 Hurling Challenge

Down Minor Hurling
Down minor hurlers play Armagh in Carryduff on Saturday 1st March at 12.30. There are 6 Bredagh lads in the match squad. Come out and support them if you can.

Can you sing?
Amhránaithe agus Ceoltóirí Bredagh

Can you sing? Do you have a few words of Irish?

If so, Bredagh needs you! The club, in association with An Droichead, is organising a special Mass in Irish on Saturday 15th March at 1pm at the Good Shepherd to celebrate St Patrick’s weekend.

We need as many young Bredagh members as possible (first year post primary upwards) to come along and support the club by singing.

There will be at least four practice sessions before the day, and the first one will be on WEDNESDAY 27TH FEBRUARY at 7.30 PM in the Parish Hall on the Ravenhill Road.

All singers welcome.


U12 Boys football challenge

Senior/Intermed. ladies notice
All Senior and Intermediate Ladies footballers are to attend a training game on Saturday 22nd at Cherryvale. Throw in 10am be ready/changed for 9:45am. Note there are no changing facilities available. Please let Paddy or Lorraine know if you will not be there. Circuits as usual on Wednesday night at Rosario.Please also send on your username for the Forum to Paddy ASAP as the Ladies section of the Bredagh forum will be set up in the following weeks.
Please ensure that you have paid your membership before the game on Saturday!!

U12 hurlers season begins
U12 Hurling season will start on Saturday the 1st March in Cherryvale 1.30-3pm.


No more lazy Sunday mornings
Bredagh Underage Boys Football will commence on Sunday 2nd March 2008 at 10 am. All age groups (from U-8 to U-16) will be catered for. New members are more than welcome. The sessions will run from 10 until 11:30. Any parent willing to assist with any of the age groups would be welcome but you must first take a Child Protection course. The club is running a course on Thursday 21st February at Queens PEC (7 pm – 10 pm). Please contact Ciarán O’Keefe (ciaran.okeefe@gmail.com) or another member of the committee to book a place.Please note that children under 6 years of age are not able to take part in the sessions held on grass.

Your Club Needs You!!
Additional assistance is required at all age groups,particularly from ladies - though men are welcome too! If you can spare a couple of hours to help out at training or matches please let us know.
Don't worry if you have no previous experience, qualified coaches will be with you to show you what to do. We can guarantee an extremely enjoyable and rewarding time working with a great group of girls. If you would like more information on girls football or can offer some help, please contact any of the coaches or the ladies youth co-ordinator, Paddy McAlinney tel 90402808.





Girls Football Training Times
Listed below are our training times for the season ahead. It is important that players arrive ready to start training at the time allocated:

Under 8s & 10s - Saturdays at 9.00 to 10.00 am - indoors at Parish Centre, St Bernadette's (Moving to usual outdoor slot in April)

Under 12s - Saturdays at 10.00 am to 11.30 am - outdoors at Cherryvale
Lead Coaches: John McGale and Colm Murray

Under 14s - Saturdays at 10.00 am to 11.30 am - outdoors at Cherryvale
Lead Coaches: Brendan Downey, Eamon Murphy and Edel Teague
Under 16s - Sundays at 11.30 to 12.45 - outdoors at Cherryvale
Lead Coaches: Cillian Short and Brendan O'Connell


Girls Trip to Dublin
We are planning a trip to Dublin on 23 February to play challenge games with the Na Fianna club at U8, U10, U12 and U14. Cost £15. All girls interested in this trip should inform your coaches as soon as possible.



U14 Boys football
U14 boys football training commences on Sunday 24th February 2008 at 1pm - 3pm in Cherryvale. This time is only for the next two weeks after which we will go back to the original time of 10am on Sundays in Cherryvale. All existing members and any potential new members are encouraged to attend. We will be entering two teams into the league this year. A friendly match has also been arranged for Sunday 24th February


Minor hurling notice
Challenge match - Bredagh v Carryduff. Sunday 17th February @ 10.30 in Carryduff. All players to meet at Cherryvale at 9.45am or report to Carryduff for 10.00am. Anyone who is not available should contact Liam Quinn on 07796614691.

U12 Boys football
U12 football training commences on Sunday 17th February 2008 at 11.00am in Cherryvale. All existing members and any potential new members are encouraged to attend. To be eligible to play for the U-12's your birth date must fall between 01/01/1996 and 31/12/1997. The U-12 coaching team for this season includes; Peadar Doyle, Kieran Kelly, Simon Francis, Aidan Doherty and Jim McLaughlin. Should you have any queries please contact any of the coaches. Information regarding the 2008 season will be posted on the web site over the forthcoming weeks.


Reserves / Thirds Notice
Bredagh Reserves and Thirds footballers will play on Sunday after the senior game in Cherryvale against St. Brigids. Senior players will meet at 10:30am for throw-in at 11.

Reserves and thirds players will meet at 11:30 for their game - throw-in at 12.


U10 hurlers get started
The U10 hurlers of Bredagh had an early start on Sunday morning with 15 in all starting off at 9am to travel to St Malachy's School to compete in the first round of the North Antrim indoor tournament. Read the full story here

All those not named in Jody's 1st team squad will now train on Tuesday nights 7.45pm - 8.45pm Mary Peters Track, and on Fridays 8.00pm - 9.00pm at the Queens PEC as at present.

NB: Any 1st team squad members not able to train on any of their specified nights should speak to Jody, and should train with the other squad on Tuesday or Friday.


Mens Football Friendlies Off
Saturday Feb 2nd.The matches involving Senior and Reserves is off due to the weather. Training at 7.30pm sharp on Mon 4th Feb in Malone Rugby Club,Gibson Park off the Cregagh Road.
