Bredagh news in December 2007
City v Culchies charity game Result: Bredagh City 3-12 Culchies 1-07 On a magnificent day for football the City boys turned up in great numbers to record a conclusive victory over the Culchies (some of whom had more pressing engagements in Debenhams and the chemists). Always more comfortable with their sexuality, the City boys were not afraid to don the pink kit (which looked particularly fetching on Spice Boys McGaughey, Deasley and Galway) and soon they were ahead, leading 1-07 to 1-03 at half-time. Santa Claus Armstrong was the Culchie goal scorer (deflection from a Paddy (Keavney) Finnegan penalty). In the second half the City boys cut loose, led by Conor Owens and Brian Rice, and piled on the scores. Referee Mulvenna tried in vain to bring the Culchies back into it - but to no avail. Late in the game there were some "bad manners" displayed by Oliver McWilliams - but these were soon sorted out by Hugh Daly - good team spirit! A great days crack for all concerned
3rd Senior team launched At a meeting on 28th November it was agreed by an overwhelming majority to enter a 3rd Senior team for the 2008 season. We will therefore have teams playing in All County Div 3, Premier Reserve League and East Down Reserve League next year. Frank McKenna, Michael Tunney and Kevin Muldoon are among those who will be managing the 3rd team. We hope this decision will help more juvenile players make the transition to senior football than before. All players who are interested in playing in 2008 should attend the meeting called by the 1st Team Manager Jody Gormley at the Parador, 8:30pm Wed 12th December.
U13 Boys football result Bredagh U-13 footballers were denied a place against Carryduff in the final by going down to Bryansford today in tough conditions at Newcatle. Read report and see pics in the football homepage.
