Bredagh GAC Quiz Night
There will be a quiz for all on Tuesday 10th June at 9pm in the Parador,everyone welcome. So folks, where are the brains in Bredagh, will it be with a hurling quiz team, camogie team, mens football or ladies football quiz team or a combination of all?
Good nites craic guaranteed. Entry £5 per person


Trip to Haiti
Donal Durkan, Under 14 Coach and Senior Thirds player will be going to Haiti on the 14th June on business. While there he will be involved in a number of community based projects. Given the level of poverty in Haiti (listed as the third poorest country in the world) Donal would like to organise a collection of Bredagh jerseys (or others), T-Shirts, shorts to give to kids in Haiti. Donal will be in Cherryvale on Sunday mornings at 10am for U-14 training if you would like to provide any gear


Minors in Ulster Semi Final
Down minor hurlers play Armagh on Sunday in the Ulster Championship semi final. The game is at Casement Park with an 11.30am throw in. There are 3 Bredagh hurlers on the panel, Cormac Hughes, Donal Hughes and Niall Donnelly - try to get along and support them!


Successful night for U-14's
The two U-14 boys football teams had good league wins on Thursday night. The 'A's defeated Kilcoo in a goal scoring fest at Cherryvale and the 'B's had a great away win against Dromara. Well done to both teams. Match reports to follow


U10 Hurling Notice
U10 hurling training on Saturday 31st May as usual 1.30pm to 3pm. Next
Saturday, 7th June, we will be attending an U10 tournament in Dungannon, details to follow. Reports from the Portaferry tournament at the weekend are here.


U8 & U10 Camogie
Saturday May 31st trip to Ballycastle GAC.
Girls to bring a packed lunch and their favourite teddy bear for a teddy bear picnic after the camogie games.

Bus leaving Cherryvale on Sat. morning @ 9.30am.
Bus returning to Cherryvale @ 4.30pm approx.
Parents available to help should contact Kevin or Anne.

U10 and U8 County Down Blitz.
Time and location to be confirmed.
We will be travelling by car.

Visit to Caman hurling factory in West Belfast.
Gavin Duffy (owner) will show the girls how hurls are made. There will be a wee gift for each player and an opportunity to buy a hurley if you want one.
Cars will be leaving Cherryvale @2pm to drive to Springfield Industrial Estate for 2.30pm.

The minor footballers had a convincing win away to Cill Darach on Wednesday evening. The final score was Cill Darach 0-2 Bredagh 2-11


U-14 Match Notices
Next games for under 14 boys footballers are on Thursday 29th May 2008. The ‘A’ team are playing Kilcoo in Cherryvale with a 7.30pm throw in. Panel to meet in Cherryvale for 6.45pm. The ‘B’ panel are away to Dromara again with a 7.30pm throw in. Panel to meet in Cherryvale at 6.15pm. Panel lists are available in the U-14 football section.


U-12 Training Notice
The U-12 boys footballers have a bye in the league this Sunday. Training as usual at 6.30pm on Friday evening. Training will be finished at 7.30pm sharp to allow players/coaches to watch the senior game v Carryduff in Cherryvale.


U-16's Win
The Bredagh U16 Boys footballers continued their league campaign with a convincing victory over St Joseph’s (Ballykinlar/Dundrum) at Dundrum on Tuesday night. Read report in the U-16 football section

Down Division 3 league match Bredagh v Carryduff this Friday evening 30th May 2008 at 7.30pm in Cherryvale.


Ulster win for hurlers
Bredagh hurlers defeated Glenarm in the Ulster League on Saturday evening. Report here.


U-16 Football Notice
Next match for the boys U-16 footballers away v Dundrum/Ballykinlar, Tuesday 27th May 2008. Players to meet at Cherryvale at 6.15pm


Win for U-12's
The U-12 boys footballers continued with their good form in the league by defeating a strong Bryansford team in Newcastle on Sunday afternoon. The final score was Bryansford 0-7 Bredagh 4-4. Read report in the U-12 football section


U-10's at Teconnaght
The boys U-10 footballers participated in Go Games matches at Teconnaght on Saturday morning. There were some excellent footballing skills on display as the Bredagh teams played with great determination and enthusiasm. Read report and see the pictures in the U-10 football section


Intermediate ladies v Carryduff
Intermediate ladies face the challenge of Carryduff on Saturday evening, throw in 7.00pm in Carryduff, all support welcome!


Hurlers win in Antrim and Down
The senior hurlers beat newcomers St Brigid's 1-14 to 0-08 in the Antrim league last week and followed that up with their first ever win in Div 1 with a 3-07 to 1-09 victory away to Newry Shamrocks. Reports in the hurling section.


U8 & U10 hurling notice
U8s are reminded that those available should meet at Cherryvale at 9.30 on Saturday 24th May for the Portaferry blitz. Children should bring a packed lunch and suitable clothing.

Note the usual training at 1.30 is cancelled. Training will be on as normal on Saturday 31st May.

U10 hurlers are also attending the Portaferry tournament. Players to attend will be contacted as U10 footballers are attending a Go Games Blitz on the same day


Great win for U-16's
The Bredagh U16 Boys footballers got their championship campaign off to a fine start with a convincing victory over Darragh Cross on Tuesday night. The final score was Bredagh 4-9 Darragh Cross 0-4. Read full report in the U-16 football section


U-14 Match Notices
Next league games for U-14 boys football are on Friday 23rd May and not Thursday as first thought. Both games are at home in Cherryvale. The A panel will play Bryansford and the B panel will play Ardglass. All panellists are to meet in Cherryvale at 6.45pm for a 7.30pm throw-in. Panel lists are available in the U-14 football section. If you can’t make it contact a coach asap. Training continues in Cherryvale on Sunday morning at 10.00am


U-12 Match Notice
Next U-12 boys football league game away to Bryansford on Sunday 25th May 2008. Meet at Cherryvale at 10.30am, throw-in at Bryansford @ 12 noon. Training as usual this Friday night at 6.30pm


U-10 Football Notice
Upcoming events for U-10 Boys Footballers - We will be attending an U-10 blitz day in Teconnaught on Saturday 24th May. All players (apart from those already chosen to hurl at the Portaferry Hurling Tournament) are to meet at Cherryvale for 9am on Saturday. There will be training on Sunday 25th as normal. On Sunday 1st June we will be sending a team to the Bryansford tournament. Arrangements for this trip will be given at the weekend.


U-16 Match Notice
U16 boys football – Championship match on Tuesday 20th May at 7:30 pm away to Darragh Cross. All players to meet at Cherryvale at 6:15 pm


Wins for u12 & u14 hurlers.
Bredagh u12 hurlers defeated Liatroim in an excellent game on Saturday while the u14s had a big win over Castlewellan. Match reports are in the hurling section.


U-14 'A's notch 2 wins
The U-14 'A' boys football team defeated Downpatrick on Sunday afternoon by a scoreline of 9-14 to 1-2. This follows a victory against Castlewellan last Thursday night at Cherryvale. Read match reports in the U-14 football section


Minor Match Report
The report for the Minor footballers league game against Kilclief last Wednesday night is now available in the minor football section


U-12's Win
The boys U-12 footballers cruised to victory over Castlewellan on Sunday afternoon with a scoreline of 2-15 to 3-2. Read match report and see squad picture in the U-12 football section


Camogie notice
Bredagh U8 & U10 camogs will play a number of challenge matches against O’ Donovan Rossa in Cherryvale at 7pm on Tuesday 20 May. All players should attend. Everyone will get to play. Contact Kevin (07730 817392) for more details.”

Our senior footballers ran out comfortable winners tonight against Ardglass in a hard fought game in Cherryvalle. Keep up the good work lads!


U-12 Match Notice
Next league match for the U-12 boys footballers away to Castlewellan this Sunday 18th May. Players to meet at Cherryvale at 10.45am. Remember, training at 6.30pm on Friday evening in Cherryvale.


U-14 Football results
The U-14 'A' and 'B' football teams were in league action on Thursday night. The 'A's had a good win over Castlewellan at Cherryvale with a scoreline of 3-8 to 1-8. The 'B's came up against very strong opposition at Drumaness and were defeated by 5-15 to 1-7. Read report in the U-14 football section. Dont forget, U-14 training on Friday evening at 6.30pm and the 'A's have a match against Downpatrick on Sunday morning, times to be confirmed at training on Friday night.


Wins for seniors & u14s
Bredagh senior and u14 hurlers were both in action on Wednesday evening. The seniors defeated newcomers St Bridget's in the Antrim league - 1-14 to 0-08. The u14s won in Castlewellan - 6-08 to 3-01. Reports to follow.


Win for Minors
The Minor footballers continued their winning streak by defeating Kilclief on Wednesday evening. The final score was Kilclief 0-8 Bredagh 2-11


U14 Hurling - Feile fund
Our U14 Hurlers have qualified for the All Ireland Feile Na nGael finals which take place in Co Offaly/Co Laois on 20/21/22 June 08. U-16 Footballers Win
The U16 Boys got back to their winning ways with a convincing home win over Drumaness on Tuesday night. The final result was Bredagh 5-8 Drumaness 2-3. The boys played some excellent football even though they were without the more senior players who are currently doing their exams.


U-14 Boys Football
Next games for under 14’s boys football are Thursday 15th May. 'A' Panel are at home to Castlewellan in Cherryvale. Meet in Cherryvale at 6.45 pm for a 7.30pm throw in. U-12's outstanding
The U-12 boys footballers played magnificent football in their league win over Kilcoo at Cherryvale on Sunday afternoon. The final scoreline was 3-17 to 1-6. Read match report and see photos in the U-12 football section.

Hurlers win in Larne
Bredagh senior hurlers maintained their winning run in the Antrim league when they defeated Larne on Sunday afternoon. The final score was Bredagh 6-20 Larne 3-07. Report in senior hurling section.


U-16's Unlucky at Saul
The U-16 Boys footballers played a very strong Saul team in a league game last Tuesday night at Saul. Even though the lads were beaten, the match provided invaluable experience for the young Bredagh team. Read report in the U-16 football section


U-12 Match Notice
The Boys U-12 football team have a league match v Kilcoo this Sunday 11th May at Cherryvale. Players to meet at 11.30am, throw-in 12.00 noon. Training on Friday evening as usual at 6.30pm


Fantastic Win For Minors
The minor footballers defeated Carryduff in the championship on Wednesday evening at Cherryvale with a scoreline of 1-11 to 1-8. Read report in the minor football section


U-14 Matches Cancelled
The U-14 boys football matches have been cancelled this week. Training as normal on Friday at 6.30pm and 10am on Sunday morning. Rescheduled matches to be confirmed.

Bredagh Ladies Seniors are in action on Wednesday 7th May in Cherryvale, 7.30pm throw in, opposition Downpatrick, all support welcome


U10 & U12 Hurling
There is a double header in Cherryvale on Saturday 10th May - Bredagh V Carryduff at u10 & u12 hurling.
U10's to report to Cherryvale at 1.00pm. U12's to report at 1.30pm.


P5 St. Galls Tournament
Bredagh P5 footballers reached the quarter-final of the St Galls tournamnet on bank holiday Monday. The lads played excellent football and showed tremendous spirit and were very unlucky to lose to the hosts in dramatic fashion. Read full report and see the pictures in the U-10 football section.


Minors win play-off

Minor Championship Match
Bredagh minor footballers open their championship campaign with a home fixture on Wednesday evening 7th May against Carryduff. The team is unbeaten in the league but based on previous encounters, the visitors will start as favourites. A good home support could make a difference so be there for a 7.30 throw-in


Ulster Feile
Bredagh u14 hurlers competed in the Ulster Feile this weekend. In the 3 group matches Bredagh beat Strabane 4-7 to 1-1, lost to Derrynoose by 3-4 to 1-4 and beat St Bridgid's 3-0 to 1-3. They finished 2nd in their group narrowly missing out on a place in the final.


Hurlers make county squad
3 Bredagh hurlers have been selected for the county minor squad for the forthcoming Ulster Championship. Cormac Hughes, Donal Hughes and Niall Donnelly all performed well for the successful non Ards minor team during the Ulster league and have been invited on to the full county panel. Following a successful coaching session on 26th April with Kilkenny All Star Ritchie Power Snr the panel travel to Kilkenny on 2nd May for a Coaching Weekend and friendly against Kilkenny Minor B Team.
