U12 Camogs reach final Bredagh 2-1 Longstone 1-0
The U12 semi-final against Longstone was played on Sunday 8 July against a very determined Longstone side. The Bredagh girls came out fighting for every ball from the first whistle and they dominated the first half achieving a goal and a point. The centres of Ellen McVeigh, Ciara O’Gorman and Sarah Sharkey supported by Catherine Rocks kept the ball in our half for most of the match. Aishlinn McFarlane kept feeding the ball to the forwards Helen Rooney, Niamh Hazzard and Clare Minne but the Longstone defence kept the scores down. With a change of positions in the second half from the Longstone side saw them break through the defence of Shannon Mulholland, Clare Levelly and Cliona Leeson and score their only goal although our goal keeper Megan Hughes made a fantastic save in the second half as well. A second goal scored by Niamh Hazzard saw us clinch this match and secure our place in the final. Our substitutes of Anna Holland, Anna Hollywood and Sarah McElroy performed brilliantly in the second half and helped secure the second goal. Well done!
A big thank you to the parents and girls who travelled from Fermanagh and Ballycastle to play in this important match. Also, a big thank you to all our supporters.
